Abstract

Professional activity often results in stresses inherent to this profession. Pedagogue takes one of the top positions in the list of stress-related professions. So, stress makes a serious problem for teachers, therefore it is important to develop of stress resistance in modern teacher.

Stress is a structural-functional, dynamic, and integrative personal characteristics that develops as result of influence of stressors such as cognitive representation, objective description of the situation and requirements to the person.

People with high levels of stress resistance have high level of assertiveness, activity, prosocial position, they are well-balanced, confidence and active, have a good emotional and volitional self-control, low sensitivity to stressors, low level of personal and situational anxiety, and high levels of motivation, readiness for activity, and high level of functionality of the nervous system.

Maintaining or improving the stress resistance depends on resources that help person to overcome the negative effects of stressful situations. Therefore, consciousness and development of the necessary resources must be the main focus of the work to develop stress resistance in teacher. Such resources are as follows — relevant personal qualities and effective strategies of behavior, active life position of teacher, etc. These constructs should be critical when developing stress resistance in teachers.

Nowadays one of the most effective forms of work to develop of stress resistance in teacher is training and variety of methods: group discussions, games, meditation, autogenic training, relaxation, concentration, etc.
