Abstract

The article deals with the problem of activating the speech and perceptual activities of the mentally retarded children in the process of playing different games. The system of correction work with the above-mentioned category of children was worked out and tested. This system arose the interest of children of this category to searching activities, provided for the correct correlation of visual and verbal material in education, permitted to use the necessary number of repetitions if children are not tired or exhausted. Certain conditions for the formation of the ability: to orient on the essential signs of objects and phenomena, to establish logical ties, to compare, to prove, to re-build and specify knowledge of pre-school children — were created in the process of specially organized education. The working out of children’s motivation for perceptual activities, for the need to solve simple intellectual tasks and to receive positive emotions from the correctly fulfilled work — is a rather important point for the formation of speech and perceptual activities.
