SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF WIVES OF PATIENTS WITH ALCOHOL DEPENDENCE

Abstract

In the present paper analyzes a number of psychological and social characteristics of the wives of patients with alcohol dependence. All respondents showed a high level of codependent behavior (49 points), which is manifested in their quest to be responsible for feelings and behavior of others, suspiciousness, avoiding conflicts necessary, smoothing situation, excessive conformity, adoration of the authorities to the detriment of their own opinion, excessive propensity to selfincrimination, being too soft in the relationship. We found that the positive qualities of the members of the group are low level of anxiety in the group and appropriate goal-setting processes, satisfaction with the results achieved in working respondents. The negative qualities include dissatisfaction with the process of life housewives temporarily not working, high codependent behaviors phenomenon of fatalism, lack of faith in their own strength, which should affect on the behavior and feelings of other family members, including those with alcohol dependence.
