CHARACTERISTICS ALTERED STATE OF CONSCIOUSNESS IN CHRISTIANITY AND OCCULT TRADITIONS

Abstract

Knowledge, which was earlier available to a limited circle of people: to ascetics, eremites, representatives of mystical and occult communities, are widely available now.

The problem statement: Nowadays, the greatest distribution is gained by the modernized and traditional forms of religious mysticism — the changed conditions of consciousness (CCC). The general secularization found a tendency in which were the most demanded: the Shamanism, paganism, antique mysteries, and also closer to our time: a cabbala and Hasidic Judaism in Judaism, Sufism in Islam, early Byzantine’s hesychasm in Orthodoxy, a charismatic neo-montanism in Protestantism etc.

Article purpose: research occult and mystical christian systems in which there is an achievement by their followers different ССС. These systems have the general signs: a) existence of CCC, which are characterized as «ascension of the Holy Spirit», «contact with God», «implication of spirit», «holly laugh» etc., B) The belief of followers in emergence of supernatural abilities inside of them; c) An existence of a Para biblical mythology about world around system of which are these followers.

Results of research: the Christianity considers that \ there are no neutral spiritual forces in the nature. Returning to Christianity, the former occultists often bring the practicing of relationship with spiritual world. Scope of results: religious studies, studying of the latest religions, help to the victims religious practicing.
