PRIORITY VALUES OF OLDER PEOPLE WHO ARE STUDIED

Abstract

The theoretical aspects of forming a hierarchy of values in the elderly, their relationship with the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and personal levels of life. It is shown that the value of health as a rather important criterion for further development, and among the dominant instrumental values in the elderly dominated by honesty and education. Demonstrated that the orientation of the future in old age is no less urgent than the youth. It is suggested that the participants of investigation clearly looking to the future and try to continue to adapt to life, learn new things, develop. The level of activity of older people can be divided into those, who experienced retirement without significant emotional disturbances and those who have developed a passive attitude to life, estrangement from others, loss of self-respect and a sense of uselessness. But the findings show rather sober outlook on life and an adequate balance of the values in older people who are trained. Firstly, they are concerned about their health and consider it a priority for further planning their own activities. Secondly, choosing an active lifestyle, seek to communicate with others. At the same time respondents quite clearly looking to the future, and therefore try to further adapt to life, learn new things, develop.
