THE CHERNOBYL DISASTER AS A CONDITION OF TRANSFORMATION LIQUIDATORS’ LIFESTYLE

Abstract

This work is devoted to one aspect of the problem of long-term psychological consequences of theChernobyldisaster’s liquidators — lifestyle’s transformation. In the paper one can see the basic theoretical principles of the topic, describes the mechanisms and conditions for changes in a person’s lifestyle. The results of an empirical research of liquidators’ lifestyle were also analyzed. The core selection included employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs who participated in the liquidation works at the Chernobyl NPP and in the control group were employees of Ministry of Internal Affairs, who had no such experience. We have identified and described statistically significant differences in lifestyle among representatives of both groups.
