Abstract

There are many researches of the topic of anxiety. They are not only in the field of psychology and psychiatry, but also in the field of biochemistry, physiology, phi-losophy.

Anxiety it is a tendency to experience intense anxiety because of relatively small occasions, to be often restless, stressful. Term anxiety represents a wide range of ex-periences which appear without reference to the specific situation.

In this article we looked through the concept of anxiety, types, which influence on a high level of anxiety on personality. Then we examined how the high level of anxiety effects on the student’s personality. Also we described the results of the research of two groups (girls and boys). The 1st year students have medium and high levels of anxiety. We assume that a high level of anxiety is the result of adaptation of the 1st year student. In the process of adaptation the following difficulties appear:

  • negative experience associated with the fact that the students have finished school, broke up with their classmates, mutual aid and moral support;
  • lack of psychological preparation for the profession;
  • the inability of students to carry out psychological self-regulation of behavior and activity;
  • not enough developed desire for a self-education, etc.

At the same time, we didn’t find any significant differences in the level of anxiety among first-year students.

Thus, anxiety, as a holistic personality trait, affects on a students’ studying level. Also it could be controlled, regulated and we can manage this condition.
