Abstract

The research of problems of marriage and family relationship and the establishment of psychology of the family as a scientific field in postwar period is analyzed in the article on the base of studying of scientific sources and literature in the context of studying the changes that were experienced by a family after the Second World War It is defined, that the Second World War has destabilized a family and, in the result, the last one needed serious help. It is defined, that psychological knowledge about family developed irregularly in different regions. It is proved, that in the USSR the psychological science was under the ideological pressure, that’s why psychological re searches weren’t conducted till 1960s. At the same time the war transferred the center of psychology from Europe to the USA and restrained its development, including the studying of marriage and family problems. It is defined, that works on the family studying were conducted by six scientific and research centers of psychiatry at the beginning of 1950s. The result of their work was the development of big range of concepts, which formed the basis for the psychology of the family as a scientific field. Scientific and semantic understanding of the conducted researches allowed to come to the conclusion, that the origin of psychology of the family as a scientific field took part in particular in the USA.
